Testimonials
"I'm sure when I ponder my life experiences, during the twilight of my years, I will regard my six weeks in Thailand as six of the most sensational weeks of my life... I traveled to Thailand hoping for an enriching experience. What I found exceeded my wildest expectations."

INTEGRATED SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMS IN TANZANIA

Designed for individuals with multiple programmatic interests, GSC’s Integrated Service Learning Program in Africa allows volunteers to participate in both the HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention and the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Short-Term Programs offered in Tanzania.

This Integrated Service Learning Program requires a nine-week minimum commitment to the full program to allow for effective volunteer orientation and technical training as well as adequate community training time in each discipline. Occasionally, depending on the size and location of the community training groups, Integrated Service Learning Program participants with extra time in the afternoons and weekends may have the opportunity to volunteer at one of the local orphanages affiliated with GSC, help build sack gardens for families affected with HIV/AIDS, and when appropriate, assist with one of GSC’s ongoing Community Development projects.

Two options for volunteers interested in this nine-week Integrated Program in Tanzania include:

  • Three to six weeks or more of community training in HIV/AIDS prevention, followed by three to six weeks or more of community training in sustainable agriculture.
  • Three to six weeks or more of community training in sustainable agriculture, followed by three to six weeks or more of community training in HIV/AIDS prevention.

Note: The length of Integrated Service Learning Program individual projects may vary depending on program start dates. Contact GSC for more information about nine-week and long-term integrated internship options and start dates.
